1937 LaSalle Funeral Coach
Pray Funeral Home offers the use of their award winning 1937 LaSalle Funeral Coach originally built by the
Meteor Motor Car Company of Piqua Ohio. The Funeral Coach is known as a
"Carved Side Coach" because it features large wooden panels that are
carved to mimic the drapes that often were placed in the windows of
funeral coaches and horse drawn hearses.
J. Ernest Pray had a vision of being able to offer
a special and unique vehicle that would pay tribute to traditions of
carmakers that have made Michigan the Automotive Capital of the world.
Many of the families served at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, Michigan
have strong ties to the automotive industry.
This particular example was located in Kentucky by Joseph E. Pray several years ago. After it was shipped to Charlotte it underwent a complete restoration "frame off" restoration. The LaSalle was restored by W. Rance Bennett Funeral Coaches of Lowell Michigan.
This classic, with its rich heritage, is now
available to the families served at Pray Funeral Home. The effort to
make this offering available has been well worth it when words of
appreciation are expressed by families who have used this special
option in their service. Pray Funeral Home has been an active
participant in the Pursuit of Excellence program for over 18 years.
