Brenda Joyce Roper

Brenda Joyce Roper, 49, of Charlotte, a women known for her care and compassion for others, died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Brenda was born April 26, 1971, in Lansing, the daughter of Bruce Allen and Edith Carol (Nelson) Roper. In her childhood, her family moved to Virginia, where she graduated from Cradock High School in Portsmouth, received her nursing degree, and started her career as an LPN. Upon returning to Michigan, she worked at Aria Nursing Home in Lansing, and, most recently, at the Dimondale Nursing Care Center. In her spare time, Brenda loved reading and cooking. She was an avid Francophile and always dreamed of a trip to Paris. Above all, Brenda will be remembered for her caring heart. Brenda is survived by her daughter, Chanella Elida Garcia; son, John-Paul Harvey Garcia; former husband, John Garcia; father, Bruce Roper; and brother, Lee Woody. She was predeceased by her mother, Carol. Friends are encouraged to support Brenda' family. Visitation is Wednesday, February 10, 12-1:00 PM with the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM.
