Erwin James 'Tiny' Wells

Erwin James 'Tiny' Wells, 80, of Charlotte, died peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2019 in Charlotte. Erwin was born June 20, 1939 in Belding, MI, the son of James Albert and Hazel Emma (Strotheide) Wells. Erwin proudly served in the U.S. Navy before working as a die setter at Oldsmobile, retiring in 1991. Following retirement, he kept busy with various jobs and time spent on the golf course, at the bowling lanes, and on the water fishing. He was also an avid woodworker. Erwin is survived by his daughters, Pam Cuykendall, Edy Springstead, Annette (Larry) Iemolini and Teri (Mike) Dagruel; son, Doug (Mary) Wells; 15 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; brother, Keith (Bev) Wells; sister, Gloria Raines; sister-in-law, Maxine Wells; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Gertrude Wells; son, Steve Wells; and brother, Richard Wells. Memorial services are being planned.
