Lawrence Herbert Patterson

Lawrence Herbert Patterson died Friday, January 22, 2021, at the age of 96, after a short illness. Lawrence was born November 21, 1924, in Montgomery County, Tennessee, the son of Grover and Lily (Davidson) Patterson. At the age of 17, Lawrence moved North to Michigan to find work and met Ailleen Young. The couple would marry on August 2, 1945 and created their legacy of 71 years together. In 1964, Lawrence and Ailleen started Holt Auto Alignment that they owned and operated for 19 years. After retiring he and Ailleen moved to Olivet where he continued farming. Lawrence is survived by his children, Marsha Lee (Don) Essenburg, Lawrence Allan (Christine) Patterson, Jo Ellen (Douglas) Willsey, Stacey Lynn (Tammy) Patterson; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; siblings, Thelma Petrochko, Janet Richardson; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Ailleen; great-grandson, Zaydin Patterson; his brothers and sisters; and his parents. Friends are encouraged to support Lawrence's family at a public visitation on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, 6-8:00 PM at Pray Funeral Home. Mask, group capacity, and distancing guidelines will be practiced. A private family service will be held.
