Ruth Wilma O'Bryant

October 21, 1930 - April 7, 2022

Ruth Wilma O'Bryant, a great Christian lady who was super organized, passed away on April 7, 2022. She was born on October 21, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Peter and Wilma (Boersma) Jansen. Ruth married the love of her life, John O'Bryant, on September, 24, 1949 in Haslett, Michigan, a union lasting 72 happy years. Amazingly, fresh baked goods would appear within minutes of unexpected guests' arrival at their home. Children enjoyed stopping by the office to talk to Miss Ruth, the secretary at local elementary schools for 25 plus years. Taking care of others, always being patient, kind, and polite came naturally to Ruth; showing others firsthand the love of her Savior Jesus Christ. Ruth's life focus was faith, family, and food. She had an extra special place in her heart for her great-grandsons. Ruth is survived by her son, Robert (Angie) O'Bryant; granddaughters, Robin (Robert) Koziol and Andrea (Christopher) Alberts; great-grandchildren, Robert and Johnny Koziol; sisters, Anna Mae (Wayne) Karn, and Jeanne (William) Bartlett. She is predeceased by her husband, John O'Bryant; son, David O'Bryant; siblings, John Jansen, Charlotte Conklin and Jaynne Simpson. Friends are encouraged to support Ruth's family by attending services or sharing memories on her tribute Page at www.prayfuneral.com . Visitation is Monday, April 11, 2022 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home. Funeral services are Tuesday April 12, 2022 11:00 a.m. at Pray Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Manning officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Go to www.prayfuneral.com , click on Ruth O'Bryant tribute, then click on Photos and Videos from your computer (or Media from your smart phone). If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Kids Food Basket. The family is in the care of Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
