Shirley Anne Stark

February 11, 1938 - December 26, 2018

Shirley Anne Stark, a beloved wife, mother, grandma and friend, has taken her final journey and has entered heaven. Shirley passed away on December 26, 2018 at the age of 80 at their winter location in Weslaco, Texas. She was born on February 11, 1938 to Milo and Marjorie (Dull) Hill in Nashville, Michigan. She had a warm smile, a kind heart and was always there. She thrived on following her sons' sporting events through high school and college and her encouraging voice in the crowd always could be heard. Shirley was a very hard worker. As the wife of a dairy farmer, she knew how to milk cows and most of the chores that accompanied the business. Once the boys were through high school she was employed as a bus driver for Charlotte Public Schools for 17 years before she retired. Shirley was full of life, and quick to be in charge of the different things she was involved in. The "Snow to Sun" community where Cy and Shirley lived in Texas sparkled with her infusion of energy. She was in charge of the Spring Prom and many other events that happened through the season, and was part of the Red Hatters group as well. The couple was selected as Grand Marshalls of the St. Patrick Days Parade due to their popularity. One consistent memory was watching her dance to her favorite song at the various weddings through the years. She loved rocking out to CCR "Proud Mary". She truly enjoyed her family and the Thirsty Thursdays around the campfire at the farm with the kids and treasured lake time with friends and family. She was immensely proud of her husband, sons and their wives, and grandkids and talked about them at any opportunity. Shirley is survived by her husband, Norris (Cy); sons, Thomas (Linda), Richard (LeAnn), John (Connie) and Robert (Lisa);10 grandchildren, Tom (Sarah) Stark, Derek (Nicole) Stark, Brad Stark, Jessica (Ryan) Kill, Tonya Wilson, Corie (Ben) Morris, Crystal (Jerry) Hayes, Kelly (Joshua) Russell, Katlin Stark, Kassandra (Jake) Chasse; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Lundquist of Nashville. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her great-grandson, Lane and grandson-in-law Scott Wilson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Pastor Dan Roscoe officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2 from 5-8:00 PM at Pray Funeral Home. If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions to Grace Community Church, Nashville, or Eaton County Health and Rehabilitation Services. Friends and family are encouraged to share memories and condolences on Shirley's Tribute Page at www.PrayFuneral.com . The family is in the care of Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
