Wanda Louise (Whitinger) Cook a dependable, helpful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of Potterville died Sunday, March 21,2021 at the age of 80. Wanda was born on January 23, 1941 to George and Geraline (Shaver) Whitinger. Life was never dull with Wanda as she celebrated everything possible with her delicious, decorated cakes, delightful meals and frequent trips to Dairy Queen. She was the life of the party playing Yahtzee whenever she could find someone to join her. Wanda was a talented seamstress making children’s clothing and she enjoyed various sewing projects. “No” was not a word in her world, she was always ready to go shopping to with her friends and family. Wanda’s primary job was a homemaker for her family, but she also proudly worked at Value City and Woolworths. Going up north was a favorite destination of Wanda’s, yet it was her goal to see the world. The Glee Club gratefully accepted her into their organization for several years. Wherever Wanda went she brought cakes that she made from scratch, smiles and laughter and she will be missed. Wanda is survived by her husband, Cecil; their adult children, Teresa (Bruce) Robinson of Mason, MI, Sharon Willis of Potterville, MI, Debra (Arthur) Rouse of Lansing, MI, John (Cathy) Cook of Charlotte, MI and Scott Cook, of Potterville, MI; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Wilkinson, Joyce (Robert) Schultz, Lorraine Martenies; brothers, George Whitinger, Allen Martenies, and David Martenies. She was predeceased by her parents; granddaughter, Casey Willis; great-grandson, Aiden Schafer; brothers, Melvin and Larry Whitinger.
