Alberta "Bert" Ka-a Winstead-Duffrin, 57 of Ithaca, a family oriented and creative person, died October 27, 2021. Alberta was born in Lansing, MI on July 20, 1964 to Gerald and Shirley (Mangus) Winstead. She grew up with a song in her heart and on her lips all the time, and had a beautiful singing voice with professional vocal training. As an adult, she always had something cooking, both in her mind and on the stove. Her creativity carried over in many aspects of her life, she enjoyed art, drawing, painting, and cooking for family gatherings. An active member of New Hope Community Church, she loved the Lord and lots of activities at her church. Bert is survived by her children, Aaron Winstead, Alana (Temo) Sotelo, and Alesha (Ronald Antoine) Dowding; 8 grandchildren, Darin, Desirae, Lorenzo, Javier, Carmela, Bernadine, Caryn, and Jericho; sister, Cheryl Winstead; several nieces and nephews; and best friends, Melissa Ewing and Jill Sivyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Duffrin; her brother, Jaimeson Winstead, and her parents. Visitation is Monday, November 8, 11:00 AM -1:00 PM at New Hope Community Church in Charlotte. Memorial services are immediately following the visitation at 1:00 PM on November 8 at the church with Pastor Randy Royston officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Kidney Foundation. The family is in the care of Pray Funeral Home.
