Alice Marie Lampert

November 8, 1924 - February 6, 2022

Alice Marie Lampert, 97, formerly of Charlotte, passed peacefully into Heaven on Sunday, February 6, 2022 in Battle Creek. Alice was born November 8, 1924 in Olney, IL, the daughter of Herman L. and Edith Mae (Harlan) Scherer. Alice married Joseph G. Lampert on July 31, 1945 in Mishawaka, IN, and the two enjoyed 41 years of marriage until Joe's death in 1987. Alice owned her own beauty shop, Alice's Wonderland of Hair Fashion, in Charlotte from 1965-1970, and played the piano and organ at many churches and at Pray Funeral Home for years. She was a faithful member of the South Cochran Church of God in Charlotte, and North Avenue Church of God in Battle Creek in her later years. She and Joe also spent several years in Kentucky. She enjoyed knitting, crochet, reading, and especially music. Alice loved Gospel music, classic hymns, and the sounds of 1940s big band. Following her lifelong devotion to God, was her love of family. Alice is survived by her son, Gregory (Sandra) Lampert; 3 grandchildren, Chad (Debbie) Lampert, Aimee (Patrick) Kelly, and Eric Lampert; 9 great-grandchildren, Jaelle, Jaiden, Isaiah, Hannah, Evan, Josh, Ryan, Olivia, and Alee. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph G. Lampert in 1987; daughter, Judith Ann Lampert in 1998; and a stillborn daughter, Diana Kay in 1947. Private interment has taken place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at North Avenue Church of God in Battle Creek.
